第29屆MTV Video Music Awards提名名單出爐，Rihanna與Drake各以五項提名領先其他歌手，不過Rihanna絕對是本屆VMA提名的大贏家，除了自己兩首單曲"We Found Love"和"Where Have You Been"的5項提名外，另外她與Drake合作的單曲"Take Care"也獲得4項提名，與Coldplay合作的單曲"Princess Of China"則有2項提名。
而去年風光至極的Ketty Perry，今年以"Wide Awake"和"Part Of Me"兩首單曲共獲4項提名，在提名上水果姐小輸雨傘妹一項，而水果姐是否能延續去年光景，今年這一役勢必是場硬仗。本屆VMA頒獎典禮將在2012年9月6日，於洛杉磯Staples Center舉行。另外，歌迷們也可到官網投票，選出自己心目中的最佳音樂綠影帶，以及支持的藝人，投票網址如下：http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2012/categories.jhtml。
