1988年時，Taylor Dayne在Arista旗下發行個人首支單曲"Tell It To My Heart"，並成功搶進Billboard Hot 100 Single的Top 10，讓她一戰成名，除了美國本地外，"Tell It To My Heart"在世界各主要排行榜上也都拿下不錯的成績，在舞曲競爭激烈的德國單曲榜上，還拿下了冠軍，成為一首名符其實的國際級單曲。
"Tell It To My Heart"的節拍緊湊強勁，旋律簡單順暢，非常的順耳，不難想像會是首勁曲，而MV裡Taylor爆炸獅頭加上血盆大口的狂野性感形象，與她有點不協調卻又自信無比的舞蹈動作，實在讓人驚呼連連，完全不讓Whitney Houston的"How Will I Know"『專美於前』，可說把MV所要傳達『讓人印象深刻』的精神，發揮的淋漓盡致。
除了這些外在的包裝因素外，Taylor野性又極具爆發力的靈魂嗓音更是她個人的註冊商標，自她出道以降，似乎也只有Anastacia被提到與Taylor的音色相近，但若是說到Taylor在歌曲中所展現出的靈魂風味，她可是獨一無二，無人可替代的，聽聽看她在個人第三張專輯中，重唱靈魂大師Barry White的"Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Baby"就會知道，她的聲音真是soul到不行，讓人雞皮疙瘩掉滿地。
1995年時Taylor Dayne首張精選問世，雖然沒有發表任何的新歌，不過卻意外的放進了三首歌的混音作品，經典的"Tell It To My Heart"便是其中之一（重混版本為T-empo Remix），這首重新混音過的作品在英國也順利發行單曲，並打進單曲榜Top 25，不過個人還是比較愛original version啦！
